World Milk Day 2021

World Milk Day is all about recognising how dairy positively impacts lives all around the globe, and today marks its 21st birthday!

World Milk Day started out in 2001, set up by none other than the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, in a bid to bring attention to the benefits brought to millions of people worldwide by the milk trade. On this day, the hard-working people of the dairy industry are celebrated, from farmers to milkmen, and we thank them for helping us #enjoydairy.

At the heart of World Milk Day is an appreciation for the dairy industry’s core purpose – to help nourish communities from all walks of life all around the world. To put into numbers the far-reaching global impacts of the dairy industry, there are currently…

  • 133 million dairy farms
  • 240 million dairy sector jobs
  • 600 million people who live on dairy farms
  • 400 million additional people supported by dairy sector jobs

This year, the main theme of World Milk Day is sustainability, and at Milk & More, we’re always proud to go above and beyond when it comes to environmental responsibility, from our zero-waste glass bottled milk to electric milk floats, as well as our relationships with remarkable suppliers who share our ethos.

To celebrate this special day, why not pick up a delicious flavoured milk as a tasty treat alongside your regular order, or whip up a decadent milkshake of your own? Don’t forget, we always have the most magnificent range of milk available – check out the full selection here.

Happy World Milk Day!
