Homemade Pizza Sauce

This super simple and extra quick pizza sauce is bound to be the tastiest you ever tried. This simple recipe provides enough sauce to cover two big pizza bases (why not try our ridiculously easy flatbread recipe?), and you can store any remainder in an old glass yoghurt jar in the fridge for a full week.

What you'll need

  • 1 garlic clove, crushed

How to make

  1. Mix the puree, tinned tomatoes, onion and garlic all together by spoon or by blender, before stirring in the seasoning.
  2. If you’re using fresh tomatoes, make criss-cross on the base and place them in boiling water for 2-3 minutes or till the skin begins to peel. Drain the tomatoes, cool slightly and then follow the process mentioned above.
  3. Remember, pizzas are the real kings of leftovers and almost anything tastes great with the tastiest base, from veggies that need using up, cheese or even pineapple!
  4. Your sauce is now all ready for spreading across your flatbreads and making the perfect base for whatever flavour of pizza you choose. Why not go for an extra homemade feel and make your own goats cheese topping?
