Tims Dairy: Heritage, Passion and Skill at the Heart of Every Pot

Euripides Nicolaou started Tims Dairy in 1949. Working out of a London basement workroom, he had a trusty old family recipe and the help of his brother Michael and his sons to help make his dream come true. He aspired to introduce post-war Britain to the wonders of authentic Greek-style live yoghurt!

The average Brit wasn’t buying yoghurt at the time, but that didn’t stop the family from selling to cafés, restaurants, and delis, where it caused quite a stir. They handcrafted the yoghurt in small batches using fresh British milk and the traditional techniques that create Greek yoghurt’s creamy texture and incredible flavour. They then delivered it to businesses’ doorsteps in five-gallon milk churns – a far cry from the glass milk bottles people were used to!

Soon enough, word spread, and people began enjoying Tims Dairy yoghurts in cafés, restaurants, hotels, and schools all over Britain. With popularity soaring, the family introduced a retail range to bring the creamy goodness of Greek-style yoghurt to the masses.

Today, Euripides’ nephews proudly keep the Tims Dairy legacy thriving. Based in the heart of Buckinghamshire’s beautiful Chiltern Hills, they use the same treasured family recipe and the best all-natural ingredients, from gut-friendly bio-live bacteria to fresh West Country milk, to craft the delicious dairy treats that brighten breakfasts and lunchboxes up and down the country every day.

These are ‘proper’ Greek-style yoghurts that stay true to their heritage. The Tims Dairy promise is ‘Taste Without Compromise,’ and it’s a promise that shines through in every spoonful.
