Green Shoots of Optimism for 2022

We’re taking a break from some of the more depressing headlines and focusing on reasons to be hopeful for our planet in 2022!

We’re Reforesting

We’re used to worrying news as climate change continues to take its toll. But particularly difficult have been scenes of the scale of deforestation across the globe. So where’s the hope on the horizon? Well at COP26 over 130 leaders, representing more than 90% of the world’s forests, have committed to work together to halt and reverse forest loss and land degradation by 2030. The crisis was discussed on a larger scale than ever before, giving us more hope than ever than a positive change is on its way, especially as deforestation exacerbates global warming. We’re also thankful to you for helping us do our own bit of reforestation. Your engagement on Green Friday meant we could partner with Creating Tomorrow’s Forests to plant 1,445 trees!

Going Electric

There's never been a better time to buy an electric car. Sales have surged in the last 12 months to their highest levels and are only expected to rise even further.

We’re doing our part, too. Our electric milk floats are the one of the most important foundations of Milk & More. We currently have one of the largest fleets of electric vehicles in the country with our 520 floats delivering your milk and groceries to your door.

Non-plastic fantastic

This year sees the launch of the plastic packaging tax. At Milk & More we’re already light-years ahead, empowering our customers to make changes that reduce their household waste has always been at the heart of the Milk & More ethos. The mission all started with our glass milk bottles, and since the olden days, we’ve continued to provide households up and down the country with recyclable and plastic-free solutions for every kind of food and drink that takes pride in your fridge, whether it’s through returnable and reusable glass bottles, compostable wrapping for bread, or just materials that can be safely sent away for recycling. With our suppliers, we’re on a constant mission towards making sustainable shopping a little easier, and we’re looking forward to even more planet-friendly accomplishments this year.

Organic – Nature-friendly farming is another year stronger

Another area that has seen a surge and expected to continue to grow is the sale of organic food and drink. We’ve seen it ourselves, with organic milk sales growing at a faster pace than our non-organic milk. If you’re looking to go organic this year, make sure you check out our full range of organic goods from ingredients grown ethically and sustainably.

Here’s a toast to more pint-sized progress towards a better planet!
